The Munster Mustangs wrapped up their regular season in style, capturing the Northwest Crossroads Conference (NCC) championship with a commanding 5-0 win over Hobart on May 19. The varsity squad was in top form, not dropping a single set. Freshman standouts Priyanka and Pallavi Tallamraju dominated at No. 1 and No. 2 singles with back-to-back 6-0, 6-0 victories. Berlyn Compton completed the singles sweep with another 6-0, 6-0 performance at No. 3. In doubles, seniors Risha Panigrahi and Annemarie Fuller earned a decisive 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, while co-captain Claire Han and Isabella Shin shut out their opponents 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles. Munster’s JV squad added to the sweep, winning 7-0 with strong outings across all flights. Notable victories came from Krisa Parikh, Sophia Rodriguez, and the doubles teams of Zilz/Labahn, Allegrezza/Sun, and Poole/Tian, among others. With this win, Munster improves to 19-2 on the season and secures the NCC Conference title, entering the postseason with momentum and high aspirations.
