The Munster Mustangs improved their conference record to a perfect 7-0 with a 4-2 victory over rival Andrean on Monday, April 28, 2025, extending their overall record to an impressive 16-3. The game got off to a quick start in the top of the second inning when Cece Mason launched a solo home run to give the Mustangs an early lead. Andrean answered back in the bottom half of the inning with a run of their own to tie the game at 1-1. In the sixth inning, Munster’s bats came alive. Ally Compton singled before Kaylee O’Connell blasted a two-run homer. Mason followed with a single, then stole second and advanced to third on a groundout. Maddy Marlowe brought her home with an RBI single, extending the lead to 4-1. Andrean managed to add one more run in the bottom of the seventh to make the final score 4-2. O’Connell starred both on the mound and at the plate, going 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and a run scored while pitching a complete game. She allowed just two hits and struck out seven to improve her record to 6-1 on the season. Mason finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Marlowe also went 2-for-3 with a key RBI. JV softball earned a victory against Andrean 13-11. The Mustangs return to action on Friday, May 2, when they travel to face Kankakee Valley High School in another conference showdown.
